John D. Russell Construction is owned and operated by - you probably guessed it - John D. Russell. John learned how to drive a bulldozer at the age of 9 (thanks, Leo) and has been running construction equipment ever since! 

John is a lifelong local dedicated to serving the greater Old Forge community through snowplowing, construction, lawn care, and other services. John is always excited to take on new customers, start new projects, and test out cool ideas.

John has served the community in a variety of ways outside of the construction business. He was a police officer in the Town of Webb for 35 years, proudly serving as chief of the department for 9 years. During this time, John learned a lot about treating people with dignity, fairness, and respect - something he applies to his business and life regularly. John also served as the chief of the Old Forge Fire Department for 9 years.

John still serves as a volunteer firefighter, acting as a truck captain and certified EMT. John also volunteers on the Board of Mac's Safe Ride and for the elections board when possible.

In his spare time, John enjoys flying, gardening, and playing with his grand-dog Zelly.
